LGS Newsletter June 2023

Hi everyone, half way through the year already!

Our People

We would like to welcome onboard our newest Service Technician and our new Stores Person to the LGS Team.

Mitchell started on the 17th April 2023 as our new service technician based in the Bay of Plenty. Mitchell comes from a diesel mechanics trade background, mechanically minded with a great work ethic.

Most of you in the BOP region will have already worked with Mitchell and as he continues training and learning the ropes I’m sure you will get the chance to meet him soon.

Leith joined us as our new Stores Person in Te Puke on the 19th June 2023.

Leith has over 36 years experience in sales and service within the steel industry.  Leith initially started her working career in stores and is excited to get stuck into her new role here at LGS and making it her own.

We also have another contractor coming on board that will be based in the Palmerston North area who has previously worked with LGS as a contractor on a large project in Rotorua so he is familiar with what we do and knows some of our contractors and customers.

Welcome aboard Team!

Annual General Meeting

This years AGM and shareholders meeting took place on the 17th June 2023 at the Te Puke office.  In attendance were the majority of the shareholders and the Directors of the Board.  This was a great opportunity for everyone to meet the new Director on the Board, Ben.

Potential New Business

Troy recently went over to Samoa to scope out a re valve on an LPG vessel.

Troy was able to spend a couple of days carrying out a full inspection on the current equipment and associated valving and pipework at this site.  He also put together a condition report for other work to be addressed out whilst the re valve is being carried out.

Should we win the contract for this LPG vessel we would hope to schedule this work in before the end of 2023.

Our customers

Our customers are currently going through the motions of updating their sites with LPG tanks with the latest technology by installing the newest ETG unit.

We are almost ready to start the installation of the 360,000 ltr water tank at one of our customers sites as the concrete foundations are now in place following a fine weather window.

An extensive 10 year internal re-valve kicked off on the 12th June 2023 in the BOP, working on a job this size is a great opportunity for some of our team from across the country to come and work together.

Health & Safety

We have recently made changes to the quarterly Health & Safety meeting minutes agenda and layout.  Some new items have been added such as an action list and overall summary.  We can continue to improve on these during our next quarterly meetings.

An NLTI (no lost time incident) was reported by one of our Team who was on site, where he could smell LPG in the vapouriser compound.   This was reported to the site manager at the time.

Covid is doing the rounds again, reminder to follow the customer’s site requirements i.e. taking RAT tests and wearing masks etc.  Please take care of yourselves and if you are feeling unwell please stay at home.
